
Carol Lynley (born Carole Ann Jones on February 13, 1942 - September 3 March 3, 2019) was an American actress. Her most famous work is for her roles on the movies Blue Denim (1959), The Poseidon Adventure (1872) and The Poseidon Adventure (1972). Lynley was raised in Manhattan by an Irish mother and New England father. Prior to becoming an actor she started modeling as a child model. She was awarded the Theatre World Award in 1956-57 for her performance in The Potting Shed. Lynley's film career started in 1958 when she appeared in the Disney film The Light in the Forest. Holiday for Lovers (1959), Blue Denim (1959) followed. In 1959 she was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Most Promising Newcomer-Female for the movie The Light in the Forest. The following year she was again nominated for the Golden Globe Award as Most Promising Female Newcomer Female.
